HEKIMA (heh-KEE-mah) — wisdom

Dear friends,

In Swahili, hekima means “wisdom.” The HEKIMA Project supports adults ages 65 and over, providing psychological care for experiences such as loneliness, grief, loss, changing family relationships, and the challenges of growing older.

The project provides structured, psychoanalytically informed care through individual, group, and intergenerational work. Each participant begins with a three-month therapeutic process designed to provide a space for listening, reflection, and meaningful connection.

Care is provided by psychologists and psychotherapists who contribute their professional services on a volunteer basis. Donations support the essential costs of clinical spaces, materials, coordination, and administration.

We invite you to support the HEKIMA Project and help make specialized psychological care accessible to older adults who might otherwise have limited access to it.

With gratitude,
